Australian Engineered Fasteners and Anchors Council (AEFAC)

Australian Engineered Fasteners and Anchors Council (AEFAC) is committed to improve safety and standards in the construction industry

Standards and Compliance

AEFAC plays a crucial role in setting industry standards for fasteners and anchors used in construction. This includes ensuring compatibility with the Australian Standard AS 5216, which governs the design of post-installed and cast-in fasteners. AEFAC’s guidelines help ensure that these fasteners meet safety and performance criteria.

Technical Publications

AEFAC produces a range of technical notes and publications that address various issues related to fasteners and anchors, such as fatigue loading, seismic actions, and installation in different materials like concrete and masonry. These resources are essential for engineers and professionals in the industry to stay updated on best practices and compliance requirements.

Installer Certification Program

AEFAC offers a certification program for anchor installers, which promotes best practices in the installation of anchors. The program ensures that certified installers are knowledgeable and competent in following manufacturer instructions and assessing site conditions, thereby safeguarding human life by preventing installation failures.

Industry Collaboration

AEFAC collaborates with various industry stakeholders, including construction companies, universities, and technical institutions, to advance the field of fastening technology. This collaboration is aimed at enhancing the reliability and safety of fasteners used in structural applications across Australia.
